STEMzone Fall 2019 and Spring 2020

The fall 2019 STEMzone facilitated 13 booths, all of which were graduate student organized and staffed. Over the 4-hour event, volunteers interacted with nearly 1,000 participants. Most visitors stayed in the STEMzone for ~15 minutes. The event was well received by the broader UGA community, and we are really excited about the new STEMzone season. We will be holding our second event in the spring on G-Day, April 18th! If you would like to be involved in STEMzone, please see How to Get involved.

Booths (subject to change for G-Day Game):

STEMzone facilitated 11 booths, 10 of which were graduate student organized and staffed. All booths have committed to participating in future events. Every booth used an interactive design to communicate the booth’s theme.

Press Coverage:

STEMzone received lots of great press , notable stories include:

STEMzone Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 are possible because of the support of the Graduate School, Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, Office of Research, and the Odum School of Ecology. We were also able to secure funding for space rental for both events from a Small Club Allocation of the Student Government Association.
We are working hard to develop sustainable funding sources, including local percentage nights. So keep a lookout for STEMzoneUGA percentage nights in the upcoming season.

STEMzone Graduate Student Organizers:

STEMzone is officially a student organization and will be holding elections in the spring!
